“CHILDREN ARE GETTING TOO SEDENTARY. THEY PREFER TV/GADGETS OVER PLAYING” – this is the lamentation of a whole generation of adults bemoaning the state of affairs of the next generation. Be it parents, teachers or anybody else who care for the future of the children, they find it a real challenge to get the children off their gadgets and television sets and out into the sports arenas.

The solution is simple – we, as adults, need to step outdoors, and play a lot more sport. We need to make sport our pastime, our unwinding routine, our bonding routine, our fitness routine. More than anything else – we, the adults, need to start playing competitive sport – just to rekindle our competitive and go-getting spirit, but to understand competitive sports enough to provide a more-than-spectator-advice to our children who do so. We need to display the competitive fiery spirit as well as the large-hearted sportsman for the children to imbibe them.

We dream of a nation, where adults take the lead in playing and competing in sports.

The problem with playing sport for most adults is – most sports are way too difficult, exhauting and enervating to suit our busy schedules.

That’s where Padel plays an important role – Padel is easy to learn, easy to play, fits into everyone’s schedule and budget, and provides a complete workout without causing fatigue. Padel is one sport, that can bring out the adults outdoors, and kindle their fierty, sporting spirit.

Padel is one sport where all adults – irrespective of age, gender and fitness levels – can learn easily and start competing.

Avinash Singh Gaur, a senior IT professional, says –

As I entered the corporate world, I bid goodbye to the outdoor world, completely ignoring physical activity. My body grew stiff over the years and resisted any physical stress. Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t play an outdoor sport, as tennis, cricket and football got beyond my physical stiffness. I was always looking for a game that I could learn quickly, where the mind was equally involved, and I wouldn’t feel shy playing with others. When I discovered Padel, I just clung to it. Participating in competitive tournaments is a wonderful way to get back your fiery spirit. I feel young in body, mind and spirit. I have introduced the game to a lot of my friends and colleagues and they all felt the same.

If we want to transform our children from couch potatoes to sporty bundles of energies, we need to start over by transforming ourselves. Padel provides an easy way to achieve that.

“Analysis of the main nutritional and healthy habits that must be taken into account in sports practice and especially in the sport of padel.”

NUTRITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS FOR PADEL PLAYERS:

According to the World Health Organization, Nutrition is the intake of food in relation to the dietary needs of the body. Good nutrition (a sufficient and balanced diet combined with regular physical exercise) is a fundamental element of good health.

There is a popular saying that says: WE ARE WHAT, WE EAT. The organism requires nutritional needs that will depend on our physical and physiological characteristics and our daily activity. Should a person who spends 10 hours a day sitting like a Pro Tour player eat the same? It seems obvious that no.

If we want to make a diet and pay attention to our nutrition, the first thing we must do is put ourselves in the hands of specialists and qualified personnel. Unfortunately, as in the world of physical activity, in the field of nutrition and dietetics there is a great intrusts and many people tell us what and how to eat without just doing previous studies about our metabolism and daily activity.

However, there are basic recommendations that everyone can follow, which will help us feel better in each padel training and match and therefore improve our performance. If you play the padel several times a week look at these tips:

EAT 5 TIMES A DAY:

There are several advantages of eating 5 times a day, every 2-3 hours. One is that it keeps our metabolism active, which keeps us energized throughout the day. We avoid the feeling of hunger or fainting, and we avoid binges in the main meals. Depending on our daily caloric expenditure, the amount of calories we must take at any given time varies. Another popular saying that is very effective is “breakfast like a king, eat like a prince and dinner like a beggar”.

When we get up, we should make a full breakfast, to have enough energy to start active the day. In the middle of the morning it is time to take a piece of fruit or a juice and get to lunch. At noon, we must eat everything, depending on the physical activity we have afterwards, we need energy to continue our activity. At the snack, we should pay attention to take a cookie, or a small sandwich, especially if we are going to play a game of padel, to end with a light dinner.

BALANCE DIET:

In principle, for any person it is ideal to follow a balanced diet, to eat everything. The balance diet is very suitable for its great variety and quality of food. This variety is important in order to give the organism all the nutrients and substances it needs for its optimal functioning.

We should not take too many fried or high-fat products. At the time of choosing fats, these should be few and of good quality whenever possible, therefore, we can use olive oil, nuts, seeds, olives or avocado, always in moderate amounts not to favour excesses that we know are not Advisable in the diet especially at night.

And do not use harmful substances like alcohol, tobacco or coffee.

EAT HYDRATES AND PROTEIN 5-10 MINUTES AFTER EACH GAME:

After physical activity it is important to give the body those nutrients that have been depleted during exercise. It is very important to take foods rich in protein and hydrates right now, not in a large quantity. This will promote anabolism and muscle growth, also recover before fatigue and effort.

Always carry a snack, or a small sandwich for after training. And even if the game lengthens and has a great physical requirement, take a banana or a couple of snacks to a bar rich in hydrates so you can continue the game with intensity.

CONSTANT HYDRATION THROUGHOUT THE DAY, ESPECIALLY AROUND MATCHES:

Experts in Medicine and Physiology recommend the intake of 3-4 liters of water under normal conditions.

If we do physical activity or the weather conditions require it, we can increase that amount.

Whenever we are going to play a match or a training session, we should be well hydrated, and drink water during and after training. If we have performed a strong activity it is advisable to drink isotonic drinks to recover the spent substances. Although you could also take a piece of fruit.

WHAT YOU CANNOT MISS IN YOUR DIET:

When you prepare your daily bag go to training or to play a game, besides putting a spare grip, cap, glasses, and all your equipment do not forget:

Bottle of water or isotonic drink to take before, during and after training,

Fruit pieces. A banana during the game, and an apple for after the game.

Energy bar or vegetable sandwich, for after game, it will help you to recover the effort.

In short, we must pay attention to our food if we want to achieve results in our workouts and achieve optimal performance. Food and physical activity are fundamental elements for our health. Eat right, stay fit!

If you are an entry-level Padel player with some Tennis playing experience, you probably know that top spin is a key technique. But is it effective enough and should you use it in Padel?

Twenty years ago, if you learnt to play Padel, during your first Padel lesson you would hear: “… in Padel, we never use top spin because the ball bounces higher after hitting the back wall…”. And you still hear some old school Padel trainers preaching the old mantra: “… no top spin please…”

During the years, as the players and technology progressed, their techniques progressed too. The sport has changed and thus, for modern players and Padel trainers, the old truth about top spin is not valid anymore. Hence, the Top spin is recommended for specific situations.

Below are the situations when the Top spin is recommended:

Service return: As you return your opponent’s service, you want the ball to travel fast and head towards the feet of the serving player, as soon as it crosses the net.

Aggressive volley: Imagine you play a long rally and your opponents are very close to their own back-wall. If you get into a comfortable situation, where the ball is somewhat high, you should volley the ball with top spin and the ball will fly high away of reach of your opponents after bouncing on the wall.

Aggressive smash: if you want the ball to fly high after bouncing on the wall, hit it with top spin. As such, the ball will likely get out of the reach of your opponents.

And yet, use the top spin with moderation, because used under the wrong circumstances you will put your opponent in a comfortable situation to start a counter attack.

Padel tactics involves not only the strategy used by a single team, but of the shot selection, court awareness and placements of every stroke. Every team should engage in smart Padel tactics and strategy in order to be a winning Padel pair.

In every match, Padel tactics plays a huge role in the overall success of a team.

A wise and well thought out series of Padel tactics must be executed if a team wishes to progress to a higher level of play. Combined with the appropriate Padel tactics and strategy, a team should also consider forming an organized plan of attack to beat their opponents.

Padel tactics begin the moment a team steps on the Padel court. Every movement and shot choice must be carefully placed to defeat an experienced team of experts. Before we dive into the nitty gritty of Padel tactics, we must first explore the basics of the game.

Basics of Padel Tactics

Padel is one example of a team sport that is fun and interesting to play. Padel singles is considered a battle of wits between two competing players, whereas the Padel focuses more on the teamwork and partnership aspects of the game. In a competitive point of view, it is very important to know and execute the specific Padel tactics and strategies to win matches.

Serve and Volley Padel Tactics

In professional Padel, the serve and volley is a common practice utilized after the first serve or even after the second serve. However, with the advent of very powerful groundstrokes in modern Padel, doing a serve and volley attack is getting more difficult.

As a result, groundstroke returns is more common than the serve and volley. However in professional Padel, the serve and volley still remains as one of the most effective Padel tactics. The reason for this is the fact that the server or the server’s partner can always execute a low or an excellently placed return that lead to a weak or faulty return from the receiver’s team.

For the players to execute an exceptional serve and volley return, they need to have more than just the skills but a lot of practice as well. During their practice they need to achieve a higher percentage of good hits than the miss hits.

On the receiver’s team point of view, if the receiver’s partner anticipates an aggressive volley return, he or she should be ready to move backwards until the opponents are about to hit the ball. But if he or she anticipates a powerful groundstroke, he or she should move forward to pick off his teammate’s weak return.

Poach in Padel Tactics

If the serving team plans a poach, the server’s partner does a hand signal that he/she is going to poach regardless of the receiver’s return (weak or powerful). Just as the receiver starts to swing the racket, the server’s partner immediately cut diagonally forward and towards the side of the server.

The poach will be very effective and most probably will give a point to the server’s team if the receiver hits the usual cross-court return. The server on one hand has to cover the space vacated by his partner to avoid an open court. An open court will give their opponents an opportunity to hit a winner shot.

Hand signals are normally used by each team member in this type of execution. The signals are one finger to poach after the first serve; two fingers to poach after the first or the second serve and no finger for no poach.
The hand signal should be done at the start of a point and the server should reply by saying yes or no if he/she understood the sign or not. Signals and communication may vary between teams. Sometimes, it’s the server who tells his/her partner when to poach and where he/she will hit the serve. In cases like this, the players normally confer before the start of a point.

Using Padel Tactics With the I Formation

The I formation is one of the most common serving Padel tactics. The server executes the serve near the center point of the baseline. The server’s partner positions at the midpoint point of the center service line and crouches.

The crouching posture limits the destruction for the server’s point of view since he/she is just behind his/her partner. Immediately after the ball passes over the server’s partner, he/she anticipates the return and cut diagonally towards the ball. In the same manner as the Poach tactic, the server’s partner has to give a hand signal to the server so that the server can cover the open court.

After the serve, the server has to stand on the middle part of the court for him/her to quickly run towards the open court. In addition, the server has to be ready at any time for a possible straight down return in the middle of the court if his/her partner misses to reach the ball.

This I formation tactic is very effective in confusing the receiver’s team and to get them out of their momentum if there are very good in returning serve.

Australian Formation: An advanced Padel tactic

The Australian formation is where both players (the server and the server’s partner) stand on the same side of the court. Like for instance, if the server serves in the deuce court (beside the center part of the baseline), the server’s partner stands on the service box in front of the server and positioned close to the center service line and to the net.

The Australian formation is one of the examples of Padel tactics that is very effective in destroying the opponents’ effective return of serve. Cross-court shot is normally used to return a serve in Padel matches and the Australian formation puts the opponents out of their comfort zone by forcing them to return a forehand or a backhand down the line shot.

Specific Padel Tactics

#1: Fake Poach

From the name itself, the server’s partner pretends to poach by moving early (earlier than when you actually do poach) for the opponents to see him/her moving but only to move back to cover the alley. The server’s partner should move always confusions to the opponents as to what the next returns will be.

#2: The server

In Padel , the server normally stands between the sideline and the center. One of the Padel tactics is to keep the receiver guessing on the type of serve to hit by changing the serving positions every now and then. Like for example if you are planning to hit the backhand side of the receiver, try to be deceptive and stand at a point where the receiver won’t anticipate your serve.

#3: Cringe

In Padel especially for the less experience players, it is very easy to be hit by your opponent’s ball. If your opponent intends to hit any part of your body or your racket to put you off balance, try to evade it as much as possible because you partner has still a chance keep the ball in play.

#4: One-up or one-back

This Padel tactic means that one player is positioned near the net while the other player is positioned further back. This tactic is less effective compared to the two-up (means the two players stand near the net) but it can still be effective in some circumstances. This can be useful when your opponents do not like to play net or when they like to lob.

#5: Angled volley

Angled volley shots are volley shots hit to the side of the court instead of hitting the ball straight in front of you. It is ideal to hit angled volley shots when both or one of the opponents are positioned at the back.

#6: Get the first serve in

It is more difficult to return a serve (especially the first serve) in Padel than because of the server’s partner who normally stands at the net. Thus, for the server’s team side, one of the best Padel tactics to win points is to let the first serve in. The server’s team has a better chance of winning if they achieved high percentage of good first serve.

#7: Proper communication

One of the Padel tactics that may make or break a Padel match is the team’s communication. Team work is lost in the absence of communication and the absence of team work in Padel means disaster. Proper communication is vital for the two players in a team to play as one. Right and timely communication allows the players to execute the perfect and timely Padel tactics to win points.

#8: Good movement coordination

Since Padel is a teamwork game, movement coordination between the two players is vital. In Padel, it is necessary not to leave an open court or else your opponents find an opportunity for an offensive attack. Thus, one member of the team should try to cover an open court left by the other player. Like for example, if the server’s partner has to run to the far right side to return a wide shot, the server should move in the same direction to avoid an open court.

Do you blame each other’s mistakes or do you cheer your partner at all times?

In many moments of the match, it can happen that you suffer a small setbacks and things do not go as you had planned which tends to affect the result. Hence, communication with your partner plays a vital role in determining the result of the game.

Tips to Improve Communication and build a Good Team

The conflicting situations that occur on the court can be solved differently, but generally for an effective communication, the following points should be kept in mind:

1. Know what role each one plays in the pair- for example making it clear from the beginning who goes for the balls that go in the middle.

2. Know what annoys your partner in a match- and avoid it. if the body language you use is discouraging, switch to non-verbal communication!

3. Avoid destructive criticism- during the development of the match. Appreciate your partner in his successes and support him in his will to win. The more trust you give to your partner, the more chance you will have to win the match.

4. Think about treating your partner- in the same way you would like to be treated. Discuss the conflictive situations when the game ends.

5. Padel is fun- make sure that you and your partner have that purpose. Remember to play padel, and always strive to have fun with a competitive spirit.

6. Try to make communication as smooth as possible- between you. Always treat each other with respect and with the sole purpose of winning along with having fun.

7. Understand that each player is a different- and each have their own personality. Build it and adapt it with accordance to your partner.

8. Most Important: SPEAK- neglecting communication with your partner can result in loss of points. To have a smooth communication, build trust and create a positive environment to achieve a balanced situation during the game.

Padel is often compared to tennis with regards to its techniques. It is regularly said, by many, that if you can play tennis, you can play padel well, but is that so?

The Basics

Let’s start by comparing the basic strokes: forehand and backhand. At tennis, a long backswing and some top spin (if not a lot) are of the essence. At padel, that is not so. The backswing should be short to save time because the ball is back at your own side of the court rather quick. Further, strong deep top spin strokes are seldom used because it would make the ball bounce high after hitting the back wall, thus, plain or slice are more useful. As for the rest, you utilize mostly the same techniques.

As for the smash, the techniques are very different. At tennis, there is one smash and one smash only. That means, hit the ball as high as possible and over your head. At padel you utilise several different sorts of smash. The power smash, the snake and tray-smash are the most common. You sometimes even see a hook-smash. The differences are big between one and the other. You pick one or the other depending on the situation. In short, for the tray-smash, hit the ball on the side of your head (at 2 o’clock) and a bit in front of you. Try to put some slice spin on it. That will give speed to the ball but it will not bounce high. For the snake, hit the ball much lower (at 3 o’clock), at the side of your head and “load” the racket behind your head. Hit the ball fast, wipe slash style. That will give more speed and even more slice spinning to the ball. For the power smash, hit the ball just like at tennis.

“IT’S A DIFFERENT SPORT. LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BE EASIER BUT IT REALLY ISN’T”, THOMAS JOHANSSON, AUSTRALIAN OPEN 2002 CHAMPION AND FORMER TOP 10 ATP TENNIS.

For the volley, it is nearly the same. At padel you emphasise slice thou. And for the lob, it is totally different technique as you will hit the ball plain (no top spin as in tennis).

With regards to the service, that is also totally different of course, as at padel you serve under your waist line.

As for the rest, padel requires techniques that are specific for padel. For example, hitting the ball with a forehand (or backhand) after hitting the wall. Yes, tennis would help your learning process.

Conclusion

All-in-all, knowing how to play tennis would help you play better padel. About 40% off all the techniques are the same, plus, it will accelerate your learning process.

Get Addicted to Padel!

Whether you are an advanced player or new to Padel, choosing the right racket is an important decision. There is a wide range of rackets out there on the market but not all have the same prices and performance so, which one is the right one for you?

The first thing you need to keep in mind is that, there is no such thing as “the perfect Padel racket”. However, there is certainly the Padel racket, which is best, suited for you. Leaving aside considerations like price or aesthetics, there are a few characteristics that determine how the Padel racket performs in your hand and these should be the main guiding principles while choosing your Padel racket. The most important factor when buying your racket should be your level of play and the characteristics that the racket can offer to your game.

Your racket should match your level of play

In general, the level of play is divided into 3 levels:

Beginner

Regular player (Intermediate)

Advanced or Professional

Each level represents the speed and weight of the ball as you play. This means that the ball will come to us more slowly and with less effects as we start playing Padel (assuming we play with equally levelled peers or with a coach) and faster and using more effects (cut, topspin or flat effect) as we play more often and improve our level in the game and the level of our opponents.

In general, Padel retailers and manufacturers already classify their catalogues of rackets into these levels of players. As long as you are able to place yourself into one of these levels, it should be easy to find which racket is the right one for you.

Durability

A Padel racket, like any other product, should be of a good quality. However, due to its inherent purpose of hitting a ball, it has to be a combination of certain features like low weight, elasticity and firmness. This means that its composition might involve an ideal combination of different materials of varying resistance and durability.

Basically, a Padel, might seem like a single piece but there are in fact three parts with different compositions fused together into a single shape:

The frame or profile: the outside around the main impact area, which gives the racket its firmness and strength.

The impact surface: is the most important part of the racket as it is the area where the ball hits and the performance depends on their composition.

The shaft: which is usually wrapped around a rubber or grip which is where you handle the racket.

Nowadays, there are many rackets in the market which have frames made with carbon fiber to give the best combination of firmness, durability and light weight. The frame is also the part of the racket, which is more prone to knocks while trying to hit the balls that are close to the ground and walls. To protect the frame, many models of rackets come with a plastic guard screwed or glued at the top of the racket.

In general, Padel rackets are more fragile than Tennis rackets. While Tennis rackets use solid frames with strings that can be easily replaced when broken, Padel rackets are made of soft components that will eventually break with intense use or accidental knocks to the ground and walls. Once broken, a Padel racket is difficult to repair.

Know your strength

As explained above, Padel rackets have a solid impact surface that is filled with holes to allow an easy swing in the air. This surface may be hard or soft and will greatly determine the performance of the racket. A softer racket will have more elasticity to rebound the ball and provide more power to your shots.

The impact surface is normally a core made of EVA or FOAM and is then covered with different materials depending on the manufacturer but the most commonly found are: fiber glass and carbon fiber.

EVA rubber is hard, less flexible and gives less power to the ball. Its advantage is its longer durability and more control. EVA is the most commonly used core by most of the manufacturers. Foam, on the other hand, is soft, provides lesser control but has much more elasticity and provides more power and speed to the ball. This obviously means that FOAM has less durability. Lately, some manufacturers have developed a third type of core, which combines both EVA and FOAM. This hybrid is a soft rubber with much longer durability made out of a core FOAM surrounded by an exterior EVA rubber.

In general:

Soft rackets: provide power to your shots, as their higher elasticity tends to give extra energy to the ball. On the other hand, they reduce your control. These rackets will help you defend yourself at the back end of the court (as it will help your hits reach the other side) and will provide power on the volley. Obviously, soft rackets tend to last less than hard rackets, as softer materials are more easily damaged.

Hard rackets: unlike the soft ones, hard rackets provide control and power. They require more technicality and precision than soft ones, and hence the rebound power needs to be provided by your arm to optimise the impacts.

Hard rackets are generally not recommended for beginners. As the playing level progresses, the hardness of the rackets preferred tends to increase.

Heavy can be good

Rackets can be generally divided into lighter (less than 375 grams) or heavier ones (over 375 grams). Each of these will give the swing a different performance and it is therefore advised to choose the weight depending on the level of play.

In this regard, note that while we will be able to move a lightweight racket with greater ease and speed (ideal for volley game) you however lose power in your shots, especially as we get tired. A heavy racket will be more difficult to move, but on the other hand, it will gives more power at impact. The key to how we handle the weight of the racket depends on how this weight is distributed in the racket itself.

Try to play with the heaviest Padel racket that you find comfortable. This may seem like a contradiction but higher the weight, more the force transferred to the ball with every hit along with less effort by your arm. Additionally, under the same use, a heavy racket tends to last longer than a lightweight.

Balance

In a Padel racket, the balance indicates the point where most of the weight is concentrated along its vertical axis. Balance can be:

High: these rackets are called “big heads” because their weight is concentrated closer to the head of the racket (the opposite end of the handle.) Despite weighing less, placing the weight at a further distance from our hand will make us feel that they weigh more. This type of rackets gives a lot of power, but it can overload the wrist, as the weight is farther out, so the leverage produced is higher (more strength required to hold the racket). These High balance rackets usually have a diamond shape at the top.

Middle/Balanced: the weight is a little closer to the handle, which provides a better handling of the racket; thus providing more control, and lesser strain on the wrist. These rackets usually have a teardrop shape and some models can be round too.

Low: the concentration of the weight lies far below, close to the handle and this gives excellent control, as the hand is now able to move more easily. But it lacks power, which is essential for volleys and defensive shots. Experienced players with great touch generally use it and although it seems contradictory, it is also recommended for beginners due to the fact that it will allow them a better control. These rackets typically have a round shape.

If you are just starting to practice Padel, we recommend that you to choose a racket that is under-balanced (or Low balance) and round shaped, which will help you to control the racket and not the other way round. Besides, the fact of having a round head expands the sweet spot (the natural and best point of impact in the racket´s surface) and facilitates your shots better. If you are a more regular player with more playing time under your belt, we recommend that you choose a racket to help you correct your mistakes as in terms of balance and form, considering that a diamond shape has a higher sweet spot, and it will provide more power and will therefore require more control and mastery of the racket.

When it comes to thickness, Padel rackets cannot exceed a thickness of 38 mm, so this is not a factor that will determine your choice of racket. Generally, rackets oscillate between 36mm and 38mm thick and some have a different thickness on the frame than on the impact surface.

In summary, remember that not all the rackets will suit you equally well. Instead, each person will require a model that suits his or her physical condition and their level of play. As your skills develop, the performance you look for in the racket will also evolve, but the criteria explained above will remain useful when choosing your next Padel racket.

Padel is a racquet sport, which is played in doubles only. It can be played indoors or outdoors. Players are enclosed in an area measuring 10 by 20 meters with transparent glass walls and wire mesh fencing. A net separates the two teams and the court is marked out with service line boxes. Walls around the court mean that the ball can stay in play while adding more excitement to spice up the game!

Objective of the Game

The objective of Padel is to win two out of the three sets that constitute a match. In doing so, each pair must work as a team to outplay the opposition. Because the court is enclosed and is smaller than a tennis court, the teammates are closer to each other, which develops good communication between them.

The pace of the game will enhance footwork and balance, which means that fitness and agility will improve.

Points:

Padel uses the same scoring system as tennis.

Six games are needed to win a set and the team which wins two sets wins the game.

Points are scored exactly the same as in tennis, i.e. 15/0, 30/0, 40/0, advantage, deuce, etc.

If a set reaches a 6-6 tie, the first to 7 points (tiebreaker win by 2) will determine the winner of the set.

Serve:

All serves must be underhand

Served diagonally like tennis, with two serve attempts allowed (first and second service).

The server must be behind the service line before serving.

The server first bounces the ball then contacts it below waist level.

If the ball hits the net and bounces in the box it is a let. If it touches the wire mesh fencing before the second bounce, it is a fault.

The returner should stand behind the service line, diagonally opposite of the server.

The ball must bounce in the service box before being hit by the returner.

If the ball does not bounce in the box, it is a fault.

Play:

Once the ball is in play, all balls which cross the net must first bounce on the ground on the opponent’s side before hitting a wall.

Players may hit the ball after it has bounced off a wall to send it back to the opponent’s side.

Players may hit a volley or smash.

Just as in tennis, the ball may only bounce once on your side, and it may only be hit once.

The Court & Equipment

Padel is played on an enclosed court that is just over a third of the size of a tennis court and has a playing surface of 10 by 20 meters. Resembling a tennis court it is divided in the middle by a net, but unlike tennis the court is surrounded by walls which play an integral part of the game. The surface of the court can be made from asphalt or artificial grass.

The balls used are the same as in tennis; high altitude for elevated play or low altitude for sea level play.

The racquets used in Padel differ substantially from tennis racquets. Padel racquets are made from composite materials such as carbon fiber, graphite and foam with a perforated surface that is ergonomically designed to allow for airflow. The face measures 26cm x 29cm and the overall length of the racquet is 45cm with a thickness of 38mm. Since it is much shorter than a tennis racquet, it is much easier to control.

P.S- But be very careful, as it will be the most addictive sport you would’ve ever played!
